RIM Design

RIM Design is a woman-owned, small business that has been providing design services since 1978.  We offer interior design programming, space planning, interior construction documents, furniture fixtures and equipment (FF&E) selection, signage and wayfinding design, graphic and display design, bid documents, and construction phase services.  Our interior focus on the client and user results in positive working, learning, healing and living environments that are efficient, maintainable and beautiful.

We approach each project by working closely with our client to understand their functional and space needs, identity and branding goals.  By providing efficient, stimulating design solutions tailored to our client’s needs, brand, and image, we leave behind a truly unique and comfortable environment.

RIM Design’s staff of nine includes eight (8) Interior Designers, five of whom are LEED® Accredited Professionals.  This award-winning team of professionals offers excellence in comprehensive interior design services, including construction documentation, review of applicable codes, ADA compliance for interiors, and necessary permitting steps.  In addition, our staff uses AutoCAD, REVIT, SketchUp, and the latest Adobe software design suite to maintain a cohesive structure with architects, engineers and other team members in addressing a project.

RIM Design maintains an expansive and comprehensive resource library that is updated continuously, providing access to the latest interior finishes and furnishings from around the world.

RIM First People

RIM First People is an Alaska Native-owned company practicing architecture that recognizes the importance of culture in design. Our projects strive to include the uniqueness of each particular user. Engaging the user in the design process instills a sense of ownership in both the finished product and the process of environment-making. It is important to RIM First People that our design create spaces that move beyond shelter, contributing to the betterment of society. At the same time, we succeed in providing services accessible to everyone by practicing economy, reuse and innovation. We value architecture that works toward the empowerment of the user, and we offer a widespread array of design services focused on the unique and distinctive needs of each user.
